Did you know volcanoes contributed to the extinction of the dinosaurs?

Long ago, dinosaurs and volcanoes existed together. However, massive volcanic eruptions caused climate fluctuations and may have played a role in the end of the age of dinosaurs, long before the asteroid or comet strike sealed their fate. 

Join us for an afternoon of outdoor fun, where you will use your creativity to draw with chalk a scene from the Age of the Dinosaurs. Then we will use the science we learn about to make your own volcanic eruption to “wipe out” your chalk dinosaurs.

This is a messy outdoor program. Dress for a mess and the weather!

This program is for children 6 years old and above. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. All supplies will be provided.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.
