Meet DJ GI Joe, also known as Joseph Rivera—a celebrated figure in hip-hop culture whose life and career embody the power of music to educate, inspire, and connect. Born in New York City and raised in a Puerto Rican family immersed in music, Joe’s journey began with breakdancing before evolving into a career as a nationally recognized DJ and cultural ambassador.
From his early days spinning headspins with legendary crews like the All Mighty Zulu Kings to sharing the stage with underground icons like Immortal Technique and Chino XL, DJ GI Joe has brought the art of turntablism to life across the country. His electrifying style and deep respect for the culture have earned him the title of Boston’s best Breakbeat DJ.
Vinyl Day: Just for the Record is a day dedicated to Record and DJ culture in Montgomery County. This free family-friendly music festival featuring workshops, speakers and more!
