Since we first arrived on the planet, we’ve been telling each other stories, from that morning’s Great Saber-tooth Tiger Hunt to the latest installment of the Star Wars saga. And throughout our history, we’ve been telling those stories in essentially the same way. Why? Because, as Aristotle observed 2500 years ago, there is a RIGHT way to tell a story, one built into our DNA.
If you’ve ever thought about writing movies, or just enjoy watching a good one, come hear Brian Price, screenwriter and screenwriting professor (UCLA, Yale, Johns Hopkins). His new book, Classical Storytelling and Contemporary Screenwriting, is a comprehensive guide to writing a successful screenplay by examining the recurring elements and observable patterns that exist in all the great stories that have stood the test of time.
