Join us for a live performance of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, one of the principal leaders of the Women’s Rights Movement in 19th century America.
Sponsored by Friends of the Library, Montgomery County.
Elizabeth Cady Stanton, a writer, philosopher, abolitionist, and human rights activist, is notable for her long contribution to the woman suffrage struggle. While married with seven children, she was very vocal about inequalities faced by women and spearheaded the first woman’s rights convention. In addition, she actively played an effective role advocating property rights for married women, equal guardianship of children and divorce reform among many things. Join us for a full portrayal of this prominent historical figure in celebration of Women’s History Month.
About Mary Ann Jung:
Mary Ann Jung is an award-winning actress and Smithsonian scholar. Ms. Jung researches and writes her own scripts, and performs in the authentic costumes, accents, and attitudes for her characters’ eras. She has appeared on CNN, the Today Show, Good Morning America, and in newspapers around the world as famous women from history.
