Event Details
This event, the first to be offered at MCPL, is a celebration of vinyl music, its culture, art and sound. Vinyl Day will include several panel discussions related to vinyl. In addition, other features include recording, demonstrations, DJs performances, live music and dance, karaoke opportunities, records sales by the Friends of the Library, and makerspace activities for all ages. John Corbett, author of Vinyl Freak: Love Letters to a Dying Medium, will be the keynote speaker.
The various events will take place at the Silver Spring library, mainly on the 3rd and 5th floors. Some events will take place at the Levine Music on the 2nd floor of the building. Posters with the schedule/program for the day and maps with directions will be posted throughout the Silver Spring Library that day so that you can learn where the different activities are taking place.
No advanced registration is needed. Stop by throughout the day, join in the fun, and bring the whole family!
This event is cosponsored by MCPL, Friends of the Library, Montgomery County (FOLMC), Levine Music, Open Sky Jazz, and Friends of the Library, Silver Spring Chapter.
