Leave donations only during business hours.
- FOLMC bookstores accept new and gently used items in good, clean condition.
- We do NOT accept VHS tapes, books on tape, or National Geographic Magazines older than 12 month. Click here to learn what National Geographic recommends doing with older magazines. You will need to click “Magazine” then open the “What can I do with my old National Geographic magazines?” tab.
- We DO ACCEPT complete encyclopedia sets in excellent condition.
- Staff will issue a tax receipt when you drop off. We cannot provide valuations. Please refer to IRS Publication 561 for more information.
- Please be sure to hold onto your donation receipt as FOLMC is unable to replace your donation receipt if it is lost or stolen. However, federal tax guidelines may allow you to receive a tax write-off even if you do not have your receipt. In the place of your donation receipt, please itemize your donated items, place a value on those donated items, and include the date of your location.
- No need to make an appointment – simply stop by our stores by 5:00PM daily and our friendly staff will help you.
- If you are donating more than 10 boxes at once, please call the Rockville bookstore at (301) 984-3300 beforehand, if possible, so that we may best assist you.
